Officials: Southland renovation adds 60 jobs | Business
(WMC-TV) - A renovation at Southland Park Gaming and Racing has added dozens of new jobs to the West Mmephis economy, according to officials.
The work added 200 additional games, more space to the gambling floor and additional space to work areas.
The rehab also added a new bar, Shine Blounge, to Southland.
“We feel that Shine Blounge is different than any bar, lounge or club in the entire region,” Troy Keeping, Southland Park’s president and general manager, said in a written statement.
The company celebrated the grand opening of Southland's new facilities last week.
Southland officials said, thanks to the $1 million renovation, the company added 60 workers to its payroll.
