LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A report says Arkansas can cut its prison population growth by 3,200 inmates over the next decade and save $875 million by reducing sentences for low-level drug offenders, raising probation and parole fees and alternative sentencing.
State and local law enforcement agencies will work overtime during the coming holiday season to identify and arrest drunk drivers who are on Arkansas streets and highways.
The heightened enforcement campaign will begin Dec. 20 and continue through Jan. 2.
