Severe weather heads for Crittenden County | Weather

(WMC-TV)- Severe weather is expected to hit the Mid-South Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Shelby County and surrounding counties such as Crittenden, Lee, Tate and Desoto.

Mid-South residents can expect scattered rain and thunderstorms.  Some areas could experience heavy rains, strong gusts of wind, and even hail.

This storm system is expected to stick around into the evening hours. Monday night's low will drop into the lower 70s.

The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Monday night.
