The Mayfair Apartment Complex in West Memphis has been closed since 2005.

High crime and poor living conditions left the complex vacant.

According to the West Memphis Evening Times, a new effort is underway to renovate and reopen the complex.

While the mayor is still weary of the plan, it is gaining council support.
